Our volunteer fire department’s Memorial Day BBQ is a time-honored tradition that blends great food with heartfelt remembrance. As the grills fire up and the scent of smoked meats fills the air, community members gather to honor the heroes who gave their lives in service to our country. Volunteers serve up delicious brisket sandwiches, savory sides, and all the fixings—while neighbors connect, reflect, and show their support. The fundraiser not only helps equip and sustain our small rural department, but also strengthens the bond between first responders and the community they protect.
